Vietcombank was honored with the "Strongest Bank in Vietnam" award for 2024 at the annual Sibos – the global financial services networking event organized by SWIFT held in Beijing on October 23.

The Asian Banker (TAB) magazine hosted a ceremony to recognize the 1,000 strongest banks globally. As the leading representative of Vietnamese banks, Vietcombank was the only bank from Vietnam invited by TAB to the awards ceremony. This marks the seventh time Vietcombank has received this prestigious award.

With a strength index of 5.8/10, Vietcombank has the strongest balance sheet in Vietnam and ranks 466th among the 1,000 strongest banks worldwide. TAB attributes Vietcombank's remarkable business results to its growth in profits, return on assets, asset quality, and capital mobilization.

The “Bank with the Strongest Balance Sheet” award has been presented by TAB since 2007. This year, the evaluation considered the achievements of 1,000 commercial banks from 99 countries and territories, based on criteria such as development scale, balance sheet growth, risk management, profitability, operational quality, and liquidity. The ranking included 440 banks from the Asia-Pacific region, 217 from Europe, 179 from North America, 12 from Central America, 46 from South America, 70 from the Middle East, 27 from Africa, and 7 from the Caribbean.

With this recognition, Vietcombank continues to assert its position as a leading bank in the system in terms of quality and operational efficiency. The bank has also been recognized by prestigious domestic organizations as the “Most Prestigious Bank” and “Leading Strong Brand,” as well as by international organizations as the “Best Bank in Vietnam” for several consecutive years. Additionally, it ranks highest among commercial banks in Vietnam according to three of the most respected international credit rating agencies: S&P, Fitch Ratings, and Moody’s.
