Vietcombank leads with the largest brand value in Vietnam at US$891.4 million

The Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam (Vietcombank) has secured the top spot in Vietnam's brand value rankings, with its brand valued at US$891.4 million, according to Forbes Vietnam’s recently published list of the 25 Leading Listed Brands of 2024.


This comprehensive list by Forbes Vietnam represents 12 industries, with the banking sector dominating by contributing seven brands - accounting for 28 per cent of the total. Forbes Vietnam attributes this dominance to the strength, history, and extensive reach of state-owned banks, which exemplify the banking industry’s resilience and growth amid recent economic challenges. Vietcombank's brand value of $891.4 million positions it not only as the leader in the financial sector but also as the overall market leader.

Forbes’ methodology assesses brand value by linking profits to both tangible and intangible assets, emphasizing the role a strong brand plays in generating profitability.

In addition to this, the Vietnam 100 Report 2024 by Brand Finance previously ranked Vietcombank as the bank with the highest brand value in the country - valued at $2.04 billion, marking a 7 per cent increase compared to the previous year and placing it fourth among all 100 brands nationwide.

With over 60 years of history, Vietcombank has continually innovated to lead the banking system in both quality and operational efficiency. As of the end of 2023, the bank reported total assets of VND1.8 quadrillion, and its pre-tax profit surpassed $1.5 billion.

Vietcombank has consistently been recognized as “Best Bank in Vietnam” by prestigious domestic and international organizations and holds the highest credit ratings among commercial banks in Vietnam from the three leading global credit rating agencies: S&P, Fitch Ratings, and Moody's. Additionally, it has earned accolades from HR Asia Magazine in all categories of the "Best Place to Work in Asia" award.

Looking ahead, Vietcombank is actively building on its strong foundation, aiming to make transformative advancements. By 2030, the bank aspires to solidify its position as the number one bank in Vietnam, rank among the world’s 200 largest banking and financial groups, and place within the 700 largest listed enterprises globally - all while contributing significantly to Vietnam's sustainable economic development.
