Starting from October 1, 2024, when opening a Vietcombank account online, customers will have their biometric information integrated during the registration process. This significantly reduces the time needed to open an account. Additionally, once the account is opened, customers can conduct high-value online transactions as per regulations set by the State Bank of Vietnam.

This improvement is made possible through the use of chip-embedded Citizen ID (CCCD) or the VNeID app for online account opening. With this new authentication solution, customers only need to scan the QR code on their chip-embedded CCCD and use NFC (no need to take photos of the CCCD) to authenticate with the National Population Database. For those using the VNeID app with a Level 2 identification account, the process allows for direct app-to-app authentication between VCB Digibank and VNeID.

The new authentication method offers several advantages:
