The country code is provided by merchant in authorization message sending to Vietcombank and the merchant must provide this information to cardholder doing transaction. For online transaction, this information can be found in merchant information session, terms and conditions or website information. The cardholder should check this information carefully before doing transaction to avoid any unexpected expense.

Overseas local currency transaction fee is the fee applied for VND transactions using Vietcombank international debit card at overseas merchants, rate including VAT is 1.1% on transaction amount.

For international debit cards: Overseas local currency transaction fee is applicable for VND transaction at merchant that having country code different from Vietnam, basing on the merchant country code in authorization message sent to Vietcombank.

Fee rate including VAT is 1.1% on transaction amount.

No, this fee is only applicable for VND transaction with country codes other than Vietnam

The Overseas local currency transaction fee is applicable for VND transaction with country codes other than Vietnam, basing on information sent to Vietcombank by the paying bank, not depending on the physical location.

Overseas local currency transaction fee is applicable for Vietcombank international credit cards and international debit cards, including card products for individual customers, SME customers and corporate customers. Vietcombank

has applied this fee to international credit cards from September 1, 2023 and to international debit cards from January 10, 2025.

• If you perform card transactions at retail locations (POS payments), please ensure to check the amount entered by the merchant on the payment device before proceeding with the payment and/or verify the amount printed on the invoice before signing. Keep a copy of the purchase receipt, and when the sales staff returns the card, please review the card to avoid confusion with others' cards.

 

• In case you are making purchases on websites/applications with the 3D Secure symbol from international card organizations, if the card transactions have been successfully authenticated with 3D Secure (via SMS OTP or Email OTP), the transaction may be approved immediately without the need for additional steps to check the payment registration status online or other security information such as CVV/CVC. This allows customers to complete online payment transactions more quickly while still ensuring security and safety in card transactions.

Vietcombank offers a service to use Citizen Identification Card for cash withdrawals at VCB ATMs for Vietcombank Connect24 debit cardholders. Currently, the pilot project is being implemented at 02 ATMs:

+ ATM with code 10800486 at Ba Dinh Branch - 72 Tran Hung Dao, Hanoi.
+ ATM with code 10800074 at Hanoi Branch - 198 Tran Quang Khai, Hanoi.

The steps to perform cash withdrawals using Citizen IC at VCB ATMs are as follows:

Step 1: Select "Transaction without using a card."
Step 2: Choose the language.
Step 3: Select the "Cash withdrawal using Citizen ID" on the ATM.
Step 4: Choose the authentication method for the Citizen ID cash withdrawal transaction. Customers can choose one of the two methods:
+ Facial recognition authentication
+ Fingerprint authentication
Step 5: Insert the Citizen ID card with a chip into the reader and follow the instructions on the ATM for authentication.
Step 6: After successfully authenticating the customer's Citizen ID information, the system will display the corresponding customers’ card number on the ATM screen.
Step 7: Enter the card PIN and proceed with the cash withdrawal transaction as usual.
