Recently, there has been a rise in scams involving fake mobile applications impersonating official government agencies (e.g. counterfeit versions of Public Services, the Tax Authority, VNeID apps, etc.). These fraudulent apps are designed to gain control of users’ devices and steal funds from their bank accounts.

To enhance public protection, the Authority of Information Security has partnered with Google to introduce a new feature called “Official Government App”, allowing users to easily distinguish and verify legitimate government applications.

Specifically, when browsing the Google Play Store (CH Play), official government apps will now display a “Government” badge in the app's information section. This visual marker helps users confidently identify trusted, authenticated apps.

Currently, many applications in Vietnam have been granted the Official Government App badge, including:
VNeID, VssID, i-SPEED by VNNIC, Hóa Đơn Điện Tử TCT, and the Ministry of Health’s Public Services App, among others.

Android users are advised to only download apps from the official Google Play Store (CH Play) and to carefully check the app information for the Government badge to ensure authenticity before installing any official government applications.
