Vietcombank backs Vietnam Digital Payment Day 2026, promoting green, modern lifestyles among young people

HÀ NỘI, October 8, 2026 – Vietcombank reaffirmed its commitment to promoting digital payments, expanding access to financial services and delivering modern, sustainable customer experiences as it joined the launch of Vietnam Digital Payment Day 2026 as Diamond Sponsor for the sixth consecutive year.

The press conference, held in Hanoi on October 8, announced this year’s theme, “Tap into Digital – Embrace Green Living”.

The event is organised by Tiền Phong Newspaper in collaboration with the National Payment Corporation of Vietnam (NAPAS), under the content direction of the State Bank of Vietnam. The change of name from “Vietnam Card Day” to “Vietnam Digital Payment Day” reflects the shift beyond physical cards towards a more diverse digital payment ecosystem.

Expanding connections towards a cashless street

According to Doan Hong Nhung, Vietcombank’s six consecutive years as Diamond Sponsor reflect two commitments: promoting digital payments and financial inclusion, and strengthening engagement with younger customers by understanding their evolving lifestyles and preferences.

Vietcombank has continued to invest in technology and develop its service ecosystem, spanning cards, ATMs, online banking, VCB Digibank and mobile payments.

The bank has introduced VCB OneQR, which integrates multiple QR payment platforms into a single code, and partnered with NAPAS to enable cross-border QR payments. It has also worked with Hanoi Metro to develop the MeGO card, linking financial services with public transport.

Engaging young people through experiences and green values

Speaking to the press, Nhung said nearly 50 per cent of Vietcombank’s individual customers were under 35. Understanding and supporting young people is a mission the bank has set for itself, guiding the development of financial solutions tailored to their needs and designed to foster long-term relationships.

Products such as the Vietcombank Visa Haha Collection, MeGO card and VCB YouPro reflect the bank’s approach to connecting financial services with young people’s interests, needs and lifestyles.

Alongside speed, convenience and personalisation, Vietcombank is incorporating green features into the customer experience. These include a carbon footprint measurement feature that helps users understand the environmental impact of their everyday spending choices.
