Vietcombank's first half of 2026: supporting national priorities and driving new growth

On July 10, 2026, Vietcombank held its conference in Hanoi to review Party activities and business performance for the first half of 2026 and outline key priorities for the remainder of the year.

During the first six months of 2026, Vietcombank continued to reaffirm its role as a leading bank in implementing major policies of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the Government, and the State Bank of Vietnam by directing capital to priority sectors and arranging financing for a number of key national projects. As of the end of May 2026, lending to priority sectors had increased by nearly 8 per cent, accounting for approximately 34 per cent of the bank's total credit portfolio. Vietcombank also introduced 10 preferential lending programes, offering interest rates of up to 2 percentage points below the market average during the first half of the year.

The Bank continued to support the development of Vietnam's national digital financial infrastructure by expanding integration with the National Public Service Portal, deploying payment solutions for government agencies and public institutions, and contributing to the development of the International Financial Centre.

As of June 30, 2026, Vietcombank's total assets reached nearly VND2.67 quadrillion, up 9.83 per cent from the end of 2025. Customer deposits (Market I) exceeded VND1.75 quadrillion, while outstanding loans reached VND1.74 quadrillion, representing growth of 4.8 per cent.

Vietcombank also became the first bank in Vietnam to launch cross-border QR code payments in more than 60 countries and territories through the Alipay+ network.

The bank maintained its non-performing loan (NPL) ratio below 1 per cent, while its capital adequacy ratio (CAR) stood at 11.14 per cent. Since March 2026, Vietcombank has been among the first banks in Vietnam to adopt the Basel III Standardised Approach for risk management, bringing its governance framework closer to international banking standards.

Vietcombank retained its position as Vietnam's most valuable banking brand and remained the only Vietnamese bank ranked among the World's Top 10 Strongest Banking Brands by Brand Finance. The Bank also advanced to 890th place in the Forbes Global 2000 ranking.

Looking ahead to the second half of 2026, Vietcombank will continue prioritising capital for business production, key national projects, and green and digital transformation initiatives. The bank will also accelerate the application of science and technology, further strengthen its governance model, and enhance its competitiveness.
