On April 18, 2025, Vietcombank held a seminar and a commemorative meeting with historical witnesses at its headquarters in Ho Chi Minh City to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and national reunification.

In a speech delivered at the seminar, Mr. Hong Quang, Member of the Board of Directors and Chairman of Vietcombank’s Trade Union said: “The 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and national reunification is a meaningful opportunity for us to reflect on our nation’s heroic past and the journey of building and developing the country. I hope that the stories shared by historical witnesses including our very own Vietcombank colleagues will deepen our understanding of this pivotal moment in history, inspire a stronger sense of responsibility to our nation, and encourage all of us to contribute to its continued progress.”
During the program, delegates revisited the historic victory of April 30, 1975 - a remarkable milestone in the nation's liberation movement led by the Party and President Ho Chi Minh. It remains a glorious and defining chapter in Vietnam’s long history of resilience and nation-building.

The seminar featured powerful, emotional firsthand accounts from two historical witnesses who directly participated in and observed key moments during the final days of the war.
Mr. Nguyen Huy Hoang, a former communications soldier of Company 18, Regiment 66, Division 304, recounted his role in escorting President Duong Van Minh to the radio station to announce the surrender on April 30, 1975
In addition to historical stories, Mr. Nguyen Hoa Binh, former Chairman of Vietcombank’s Board of Directors shared his personal journey—from soldier to leader in the finance and banking sector, helping transform Vietcombank into Vietnam’s leading bank.

Delegates also took part in a commemorative photo session to mark the occasion
The program served to strengthen the sense of responsibility among Vietcombank staff, encouraging them to uphold the legacy of previous generations. With determination and unity, they continue to build on the bank’s achievements and contribute to writing new chapters in Vietcombank’s proud history.
