Vietcombank donates VND100 billion to eliminate temporary and dilapidated housing nationwide

On the evening of October 5, 2024, in Hanoi, the Government and the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front launched a program aimed at eradicating temporary and dilapidated housing across the country, titled "Warm Home for My People." Vietcombank contributed significantly to this initiative with a donation of VND100 billion.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh delivered a speech at the launching ceremony

The program's goal is to mobilise resources from businesses, organizations, philanthropists, and Vietnamese citizens both at home and abroad. The aim is to support around 150,000 poor families facing housing challenges by 2025, helping them move away from temporary and dilapidated homes.

The vision is for every family to live in homes with "three hard" features: a solid roof, sturdy floors, and strong walls. This ambitious goal requires a collective effort from all sectors of society.

In a speech delivered at the launching ceremony, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh highlighted that while the Party and State have implemented various housing policies, there are still hundreds of thousands of families living in inadequate conditions, particularly in remote, ethnic minority, and border areas.

He reiterated the Vietnamese saying, "settling down and having a career," and affirmed the government's commitment to social equity and security. The Party and State have a policy: not to sacrifice fairness, social progress, social security and the environment to pursue growth alone.

The Prime Minister called on everyone - citizens, the military, political organizations, and the business community - to unite in this effort, encouraging contributions from all levels: “Everyone can give what they have - be it resources, or financial support - so that together we can ensure prosperity and happiness for all, fostering a spirit of national unity and leaving no one behind in our country's development.”
