Recently, there has been a resurgence in fraudulent activities involving impersonation of the Vietcombank brand through text messages. The content of these messages typically notifies customers that their account has been locked or that their account/card will expire in the near future. Additionally, they request customers to click on a fake link within the message, aiming to steal service information and funds from the customer's account.
This is not a new scheme; it has been consistently cautioned against by the bank and various media sources for several years. However, fraudsters frequently alter the content of fake SMS messages to engage in deceptive practices. Vietcombank remains actively engaged in collaboration with relevant authorities to thwart counterfeit links and to minimise risks and financial losses for its customers.
